Amanda Bynes.
She might not be as "hot" as Jessica
or as pretty as Scarlett
But she's got the perfect package. Humble. Affable. Funny. She's nowhere near being a diva. How hard is it to get an actress like that.

And humor is sexier than any kind of physical sexiness. I wish I'd known somebody like that. I could use some laughter.

Anyway, I've finished watching a few shows starring Amanda, like She's the Man, Lovewrecked, Sydney White, What a Girl Wants and also a few episodes of What I Like about You. Typical teenage shows, but I love them!

Tired of Social Networking sites? Watch this.

Be it Myspace, Friendster, Facebook, Bebo, Multiply, or any other social networking sites, sometimes you just can't live without them, but at times, you really wanna throw them out of the window. And all those "application" invitations in Facebook have started to get on my nerves.

Got Milk?

I love the ads for their catchy phrases, and the celebrities involved. Yeah, drink milk, I should.

"What? Drink Milk."
Metamorphosis. My favourite poster/ad. She looks rather different from who she used to be on "What I Like About You", I don't know why. But I still like her. Zhu Whee knows that =)
Batman by Night, Bruce Wayne by Day, Body by Milk.
"Rockers drink milk. You should too."
"For Milk I Will"
Free kicks by Beckham. Body by Milk.

Pre Contract Examination

My dad helped me sign up for the PCE for insurance agents. Haha. Have to study because the exam is on the 13th of next month. Taking for fun only since I've got nothing to do. Then I get to know more about insurance also. Sweet. But the book looks a lot like my Form 6 Pengajian Am text book... when I looked at it, I don't know have a clue where to start...

Stalled

With all the football transfer buzz going on, I need to make a story also. And there you go, the final product of the front page. It doesn't look like the real thing, but good enough for me. I chose The Sun as the template for this thing because they are the tabloid experts. Trying to make it sound scandalous. Lol. Sorry, no page 3 coverage, haha.

*Don't sue me...

Death Magnetic

Good news for trash/heavy metal rockers. Maybe I'm a bit late, but it's reported that Metallica's new album Death Magnetic will be released on the 12th of September. After listening to some short previews of the tracks on their web page, I think it's gonna be much better than St. Anger. The tracks sounded more like the the stuff they released before the 1996 album Load. I don't think I should comment any further, because the previews are only the most 15 seconds long, but I really hope that it will be a solid album and lives up to the hype surrounding it.

Track listing:

1. "That Was Just Your Life"
2. "The End of the Line"
3. "Broken, Beat & Scarred"
4. "The Day That Never Comes"
5. "All Nightmare Long"
6. "Cyanide"
7. "The Unforgiven III"
8. "The Judas Kiss"
9. "Suicide & Redemption"
10. "My Apocalypse"

I'm seriously looking forward to the album. We have The Unforgiven III! I love part I & II, and I really hope part III is a nice one!

What about Guns n Roses' Chinese Democracy? Still in the dark. Maybe we should just stop hoping. Axl has got some really big issues man.

Random *giggle, followed by an evil grin*

Remember this photo? If you have been wondering what or who I was looking at, here's the answer:
Hahaha. Just being random. =P "对面的女孩看过来." Lol. 不管样貌怎么样,有得看就算了... (Translasi/penterjemahan: rupa wajah bagaimana pun tak kisah lah)

*Ignore this post. Syok sendiri saje. This is the kind of post that will be produced when one has blogorrhea. Will post some more meaningful stuff next time ;) Sorry about using Chinese and the poor translation.

Whole Lotta Love

It's been awhile since I became a Led Zep fan. The unbeatable rock duo of Jimmy Page and Rober... Hmmm... Wow beautiful dress. Since when Robert Plant started cross-dressing?? Lol. Okay fine I know it's a super lame joke. It's not even a joke, it's some random crap. If you are laughing at all you should seriously consider having your mind checked. XD

Anyway, Leona Lewis and Page performed the famous "Whole Lotta Love" from the album Led Zeppelin II during the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Those lucky Chinese. How hard is it to get a chance to see the legendary guitarist perform? Haha. It would be cool if Leona did the "aah, aah, aah, aah, huh, huh, ahh, etc..." part during the buildup before the guitar solo. That's almost an imaginable thing for pop singers to do. Lol.

One more thing, goodbye Beijing!

I never learn.

The most common and important thing athletes have to do before any activities: WARM UP excercises. But I always choose to ignore that general rule. Now I'm paying the price for my "transgression". Lol. Having aches all over my body.

I'm such a badass for putting my muscles on overdrive mode immediately, without making any effort to do the simplest of stretchings. And that increases the risk of me getting injured. For example, I pulled my thigh muscle real bad during my 100m trials for my sports house last year because I didn't warm up properly and pushed too hard. Eventually I qualified for the 100m and 400m heats but had to pull out for both events (and my favourite events too... sobs...), ruining my chances of getting individual medals for any sports events in school. Thank goodness I rested enough and made myself available for the 100m and 400m relay events, securing a bronze and a gold medal for the events respectively.

Tiba-tiba syok sendiri pulak. Olympic fever mah, people dapat gold medal saya pun mahu kasih saya feeling itu lah. Back to the topic. Lol. I almost didn't make it for the football squad also because at the time of squad selection, I could barely run because I hadn't recovered fully.

Anyway, I had a football game with some Sam Tet old boys along with Yuan, Chung Yew, Ban and Nan yesterday back in school. It's been two months since the last time I engaged in any sports activities and the first time I played with them since I completed form six. My fitness level has been dropping since I finished my SPM almost three years ago. I can no longer run past players and lose the ball easily when challenged. Ah. Haha. Makes me feel like Brazil's Ronaldo, way past my prime already. Lol. And the last time I swam, about two months ago, I couldn't even complete a lap of 100 metres. I should go screw myself somewhere XD I want my stamina back!

Mr. Guglielmucci

Well, he is a real planet shaker. Find out why.

This won't have much effect on me but lotsa people are going to have a lot to say about it. I'm not gonna be too critical about it because it's not like I really care and I'm not surprised at all. Things do happen. Things that people didn't expect or didn't wanna hear about.

Silver medal. It's okay, better than none. Maybe a bit sad lah. Haha.

The Olympic Gold medal has eluded Malaysia for far too long, and there's finally a good chance of securing the first one when Lee Chong Wei, ranked number two in the world, faced the world number one Lin Dan for the Badminton singles' Gold medal.

Chong Wei eventually lost the match, and only managed to get a Silver, and I'd say having a medal is better than none. Obviously a lotta people are disappointed with the performance. But we just can't be too harsh on him, because in competitive sports, there's always a winner and a loser, and being on the podium in the Olympics is like the hardest thing in the world, let alone winning the gold medal.

Lin Dan's performance was too good for Chong Wei, who had many unforced errors. Chong Wei did what he could, but just not good enough. The unsurmountable pressure he faced after losing the first set could drive a person mad. He lost the psychological battle. Hard luck. "Hilang punca", like what the commentator said.

Look at the sad face of the lad. Lol. Cheer up, you made us proud.

MU 1 Newcastle United 1

Fletcher scoring United's equaliser a minute after Obafemi Martins scored in the 22nd minute.

It's the opening match of the season and Manchester United can only manage a draw. They seriously needs to get some fire power ASAP. The rest of the so called "Big Four" teams in the Premier League won their respective matches, except for MU. They dominated ball possession, had chances, but just couldn't score after having that equaliser. Of course, Newcastle United is not an easy team to play against.

By the way, Rafael and Rodrigo Possebon had their Premiership debut. Rodrigo who??? That's exactly what's in my mind. Lol. Still no confirmation about the Berbatov transfer saga. Right now I think we need Ronaldo back also... The injuries always come at the wrong time...

Quicksand Jesus

The song caught my attention while I was listening to Skid Row's album, Slave to the Grind. By looking at the title only, some wouldn't bother finding out more about the song thinking it's offensive. Not me. Lol. I love the song.

The song is definitely about faith and religion, but there's a deep meaning to this song and it's hard to understand or explain why he picked those words as the title. One might end up being a confused person after listening to the song and watching the video.

*I enjoyed the performance by the band in the vid, you know, the wailing of the guitar, but can't catch the connection between the lyrics and the old lady passing a rosary to a kid XD

Pain

Kurt CobainFebruary 20, 1967 – c. April 5, 1994

Sometimes I really wonder what's up in Kurt Cobain's mind when he wrote the song "You Know You're Right". It's certainly one of the darkest songs he wrote. Part of the lyrics were mere repetition of the word "Pain", but the way he sang it, makes it hard to distinguish whether he's singing or just shouting in pain, with the hope that someone would understand him. The kind emotions he put into the song made the song so... real. Guess no one heard his cry. Not even his band mates. By the time the world knew about this song, he has been in the grave for more than half a decade. Sad.

Good rockers die young. Many of them suffered the same fate. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Cliff Burton, Freddy Mercury, Sid Vicious, John Bonham, etc. Kurt's death was by far the most tragic one. I won't be judgmental about the path that they had chosen and what killed them. One thing I know is that these are the people that can influence lives (both positively and negatively I guess), but theirs were taken away from them while they have so many unachieved things. That's life. No one knows exactly what's gonna happen to them in the next minute, the next hour, the next day. Sometimes we just gotta be thankful for being given another day to live and continue hoping that whatever we do, we will do it for the betterment of humanity, besides for our own pleasure, that is. We are selfish beings, but sometimes we go beyond that selfishness when we realise that someone needs help. And then we help them ease their pain. Sometimes we are better painkillers than morphine (or aspirin, or heroine, or anything you can think of. You name it.) is.

Led Zeppelin - I Can't Quit You Baby

One of the finest songs performed by the Led which is written by blues legend Willie Dixon.

"I can't quit you, babe
So I'm gonna put you down for a while"

Haha. That's why I like Led Zep so much. They have the right song for every scenario which you can relate to.

And I was listening to Estrella just now... and the band is so nice. Jazz! Gotta thank Kutuman for the recommendation. I love it! It's a local band by the way.
Estrella
This song is called "Stay". Is that Bossa Nova? I'm not sure but the guitar style sounded like Bossa Nova. I don't know. That complicated yet soothing sound induces the growth of imaginary wings on my back and make me float in the air. Haha.

Simply spectacular. An opening ceremony in which the Chinese showcase their culture, capabilities and economic prowess. The government must have spent millions on this ceremony alone.
The lighting of the Olympic cauldron.

Surprisingly Kei Fai was back in Ipoh for a day, so we were watching the live telecast together with Sen Loong, Kah Soon and also Bernard at the stadium food court. Just imagine how our expressions were like when the cauldron was lighted, Zhang Yimou style XD

08/08/08

An auspicious number for the Chinese, and what a date to mark the beginning of the Beijing Olympics. Gonna watch the live telecast of the opening ceremony now =)

I love things the way it is right now. Having a good family and many supportive friends. And I don't mind being single, at least for now. It might be a different story entirely in the next couple of years (or maybe in the next few month), who knows. But I have to say that I'm happy now. Very happy. Happier than who I've been for the past few years.

The right song that comes to mind has to be Nirvana's "Lithium". The kind of irony that actually makes sense. Have friends but lonely, yet happy.

"I'm so happy, cause today I found my friends.
They're in my head... I'm so lonely. And that's okay."

Two weeks, not enough.

It's been two good weeks since my last post. It's not too long a break actually. My sleep is normal again. Sleeping late and waking up in the afternoon was a bad habit, really and it's bad for my health. I have started to become more health conscience lately.

Anyway, I spent my the past two weeks watching movies and anime. I didn't know that I would enjoy doing that so much.

I watched some Tim Burton productions like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I like his style. The depiction of ideas in a gothic way.I watched Bleach too and it was nice. I have to admit that I was a bit lost when I was watching it because I missed almost all of the older episodes and started straight with the new ones.Watching animated movies like Superman, Hellboy and the Ultimate Avengers made me feel like a kid again! I used to love those when I was a kid, but as I grew up, I didn't have time for them. Ah, how I miss those days of being carefree. The memories of my childhood always give me a reason to smile. Oh well...

Besides, I started practising scales using a metronome. I was always lazy to do that last time. Now I'm really desperate to pick up some speed on the fretboard. I hope to get a new electric guitar also, but not so soon. My classical guitar is fine, but my Squier Strat is giving me a headache.

And I'm having blogger's block. *Sigh* That's probably because I shut myself to the outside world by spending endless hours at home. Although I have things to say, I'm unable to put them into words.

Hopefully, I can start my studies soon. The result of my appeal is coming out soon. Gimme good news, please.

Cromok - I Don't Belong Here

It's the first time I listened to Cromok, although I knew its existence more than 10 years ago through TV commercials, but never paid attention to them. They are the pioneers of metal music here, probably the best metal act ever from Malaysia, and they make us really proud =)
